Sometimes people are surprised when they cry in yoga.
They wonder if it’s normal.
It is.
When the body slows down and the breath deepens, the nervous system can begin to feel safe enough to soften. When that happens, emotions may surface naturally. Tears aren’t a sign that something is wrong - they’re often a sign of release.
Yoga doesn’t ask us to perform or hold it together.
It invites honesty, softness, and presence.
It invites us to meet what’s here, without judgment.
For many, the studio becomes a place where the body knows it’s okay to let go.
A place where it’s safe to feel, to breathe, to be human.
Whether tears come or not, all of you is welcome here -
a space to arrive fully, exactly as you are. 🧘♀️🧘♂️

How often do you daydream and reframe your thoughts ? Many years ago i learned in a Psychology class that positive thoughts do make us less depressed - whether or not our thoughts are about a real thing
Obsessive attention to negative news is a problem for many - media capitalizes on this phenomenon - bad news sells
I like to refocus on what I choose to attend to - I keep track of world events but do not dwell there more than ever we need to care for our mental health - when I do this I have something to give.
Most people look at their phones when they have free time. But studies suggest there are serious benefits to letting your mind wander.
Healthy season’s greetings! It’s more important than ever during a holiday that is full of emotions to eat healthy foods and practice self care. Look for the light in every person - friend, family or stranger on the street- it’s easier to find during the darkest days of winter if you look for it!

Yoga & meditation: group & private classes; empowerment, coach, reiki master, continuing education for yoga teachers. E-RYT, CNT. Formerly a studio in Eden Prairie, opened in 2008 right when our economy completely changed. Our mission became more real - yoga helps us to breath, relax and smile. What a perfect time to open. Thus began the education of a yogi in business.
A small local business with a mission, dream and unshakeable integrity has a chance only if the community joins in to be a part of it. We all learned together that a community team was the way for a small business to continue to pay its bills and provide a service that was so valuable. We trained many yoga teachers in our small yoga school, some of whom moved on to open their own studios. We inspired a few to start teaching, or follow other dreams. Most of all we provided a community place where we could join up and mindfully connect and be strong, flexible and vital together.
We suffered some setbacks and hardships and in 2014, closed the doors to the retail front of Yoga Prairie. Karen Kinnard, the founder, moved on to help another struggling small community studio in Hopkins, MN. Formerly Yogatiques, purchased by Andrew Seifert in 2015, Karen offered to help and Andrew asked her to be a business partner. It was a match! Andrew has many years of business and yoga experience and Karen the complementary vision, yoga business and teaching experience to make a great team. We rebranded in 2017 to Good Vibrations Yoga - (Andrew traveled with the Beach Boys in his earlier years as a sound engineer!).
Once again we have built an amazing community yoga studio - this time it’s even better as Karen’s dream of bringing to one studio the very best teachers available in the area and visiting teachers to travel the world to teach. Our regular teachers have taught between 4 and 25 years - the experience and expertise is unmatched.
We have a mix of traditional yoga: Ashtanga, Hatha & Iyengar, and non-traditional - vinyasa, laughter, yoga calm for children, teen yoga, vinyasa + yin; qigong, tai chi, zumba, belly dance - probably 95% is yoga - teacher training, and we’re very involved in our small town community in the middle of the big twin cities.
We invite you to visit us. The vibe in the studio is tremendously awesome, welcoming, fun, friendly and peaceful. The website: http://goodvibrations-yoga.com
