Tell me you tried ALL THE THINGS to get your autoimmune illness under control …

I’m actually retiring these cookbooks. They are from my life BFW - before FASTer Way. They’ve got a few good recipes in them and I still believe in whole food nutrition as much as possible, but the sheer number of ingredients/steps just doesn’t fit my busy life as a mom of 3 active kids.

These books also didn’t help me understand how much I should be eating. I was vastly underestimating how much food - specifically protein - my body needed to heal.

Thankfully the meals in the meal guide are super simple and full of flavor! Keep it simple!!

He made them strong and able to bring life into this world.

I’m in for 2023!

I relaxed quite a bit this year regarding my nutrition, but I also wasn’t focused on the inches.

My focus was sleep and strength and I’m so happy to see the progress I made in both of these areas!!

As we head into 2023, I don’t have to worry about dropping my calories to 1200 or killing myself on cardio.

I don’t have to worry about getting “back on the wagon” because there is no wagon!!

My plan? Whole food nutrition, protein and strength training. Just like normal.

I’m not a good blogger…

But this is real life.

We had VBS this morning and I could have driven through somewhere on our way home. But instead it’s tuna salad, bean chips and pickles for a quick lunch. And, although it’s not pretty, it’s delicious and keeps me full!

If you’re trying to do some complicated meal plan, you’re going to burn out and fast.

Stop trying to make a “healthy version” of chicken fried steaks that uses super random hard to find ingredients and Pegasus feathers!

Mix and match:

🍗a protein

🥦a veggie

🍠a carb

I could not be more proud of this woman right here!! She has been my ride or die for 22 years (OMG!) and after having two precious little ladies in two years PLUS a roaring case if hyperemesis gravidarum she was frustrated with the toll it took on her physically.

Since her second baby, she has been committed to her nutrition and trusting the process through the and continues to see the inches come off. Did I mention she also works as a counselor??

All it takes is one step...

Then another...

Then another...

Before you know it, you've walked a mile - or maybe even more.

But I'm here to tell you that it's okay to start small!! In fact, my clients who have seen the most success are the ones that celebrate the small wins, the non-scale victories, those intangible successes!!

Our health will not be won or lost in one day, one week or even one month. It's the consistency that makes the difference. Each day one step forward...or even a step back...keeps you moving in the right direction in the long-term!!!

Today is a REST day here in the .

Did you know that getting adequate rest is second to ONLY proper nutrition in our program?

God built a day of rest into our week for a reason, y'all!

It looks different for everyone, whether you enjoy a soothing yoga class or a warm bubble bath. It could be a good book by the fire or a walk around the neighborhood.

Whatever it means to you, make sure you build time into your days and weeks to step back from the grindstone and allow yourself relaxation and recovery!

Kodiak Cakes Chocolate Chip Oatment *not dairy free* (1 cup) - 14P, 36C, 4.5F

Apple Pie Lara Bar - 4P, 25C, 9F

Trader Joe's Unsulfured Unsweetened Cherries (1/3 cup) - 0P, 27C, 1.5F

FYI: Since this post was geared towards snack foods, I didn't include some of my staple side dishes like potatoes, sweet potatoes and rice.

What do you think when you hear the term "Intermittent Fasting"?

Usually I get one of two responses:

"Oh I could never go that long without eating..."

Or

"I already do that, I just don't eat breakfast..."

There is definitely a right way and a wrong way to implement Intermittent Fasting and, when done correctly, there are more and more studies confirming its multiple benefits!!
