Feeling lost due to grieving someone or something in your life?
If you or someone you know are struggling with grief or loss and could benefit from support on your grief journey, please contact me. I am a school psychologist and a certified grief educator. I have participated in and graduated from an intense and extensive grief program to be able to help others in this special area of need.
I embarked on this line of work due to many personal losses with many different types of grief and loss, spanning almost 30 years. I am a bereaved parent, bereaved sibling, bereaved daughter, bereaved granddaughter, bereaved niece and bereaved friend. I decided to take the pain of my own losses and put it toward the purpose of helping others who have also found themselves on this unchosen and unwanted road.
We live in a grief-illiterate society where many times grief is minimized and the griever is told things like, “Just get over it.” Or “They wouldn’t want you to be sad.” These platitudes can add unnecessary guilt frustration, and isolation, further complicating the griever’s journey.
Unfortunately, many grievers do not get the help or support they need. This is where I come in; I currently see adults and children who are dealing with any kind of loss (not just death, although that is certainly one area).
If you’re ready to have hope and meaning again in your life, I’d love to hear from you. Please pm me on Facebook, email me at janeenschaefer@hotmail.com, or text or call me at 618.406.7493.
Warmly,
Janeen
