REGISTRATION When visiting PLAYCARE for the first time, we encourage parents and children to take a tour of our facility and meet our staff. Registration takes about 15 minutes. PLAYCARE requires family information, two emergency contacts with address and phone numbers, and your child’s health information. If your child seems overwhelmed with the activity we suggest you let him or her observe before joining in. When your child is ready our staff will direct him or her to an appropriate activity. You can expedite your registration process by filling out the online form and presenting it on your first visit. DISCIPLINE PLAYCARE staff members use encouragement and redirection to curb undesired behavior. Time out is used only when a child is losing control and refuses redirection - for example, acting aggressively, throwing a tantrum, or complete defiance. Time out is a short “time away” from the other children so that the child can cool off and regain self-control. NO ONE is allowed to spank, hit, bite, shake, yell at or cause any physical or emotional harm to any child at our facility. MEDICATIONS If at all possible, parents are asked to administer medications at home. In the event that the PLAYCARE staff need to administer medication an “Administration of Medication Form” must be signed by the parent. All medications must be in the original container clearly labeled with the child’s name, date, correct dosage, expiration date, doctor’s name and phone number. ILLNESS Children with common colds are welcome to visit PLAYCARE. Please do not bring your child to the facility with any of the following - Fever, Upper Respiratory Infection, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Inflamed Eye or Skin Infection of unknown origin. If your child exhibits signs of obvious illness while visiting PLAYCARE we will contact you immediately. INJURY PLAYCARE will notify you upon pick-up of any illness or accident which requires first aid treatment. In case of a serious accident or injury, we will make every attempt to contact you immediately. If we can not reach a parent, we will call the emergency contacts listed on the registration form to make the medical decisions for your child. If we feel the injury is life threatening we will call “911.” You will be responsible for any and all charges incurred for the emergency. It is imperative that we always have current emergency information. PLAYCARE GUIDELINES 1. PLAYCARE will change diapers every two hours or, if soiled, immediately.
