I would like to know if anyone claims that poor uncared for chocolate lab that Casie found. If I didn’t already have 4 dogs I would take her, give her the care she so needs along with a LOT of love. Can’t stop thinking about her.😢😡

Perks of the job: We get to meet new puppies and kittens! This is Chester the cat, post-op neuter and Aspen the German Shepherd, here for his second round of puppy shots.

6 weeks ago these seven English Bulldogs made their debut via c-section. Their owner surprised us yesterday at their six week check-up! All the of pups were named after our doctors and staff. Dr.(Jay) and Susie weren’t present for the reveal. All seven pups are doing well and acting ornery as expected!

🕷Be Tick Smart🕷

🕷 Ticks can spread over 10 deadly diseases among animals and humans, even paralysis.

🕷 Ticks do NOT fall from trees; they live on or just above ground.

🕷 All life stages of the tick are fully capable of transmitting diseases.

🕷 A female tick can lay up to 3,000 eggs.

🕷 They can survive in most temperatures, even below freezing.

🕷 It takes up to 3 years for a tick to complete a full lifecycle.

🕷 Year One: In the spring and summer of year one, eggs hatch into larvae which feed once and molt into nymphs. Nymphs become dormant for the fall and winter.

🕷 Year Two: In the second year, nymphs feed from May through July. At this time, the nymph May transmit disease-causing organisms.

🕷 Year Three: In the fall, nymphs molt into adult male and female ticks. The females feed on deer and other large mammals, mate, lay eggs, and die.

• If you and your pets are exposed to ticks please call (316) 321-0811 so that our staff can discuss preventive care for your cat and dog.•

🚨All of the ticks shown came from 1 dog; which was only a small fraction of the total!🚨

🐾 Meet Benny the Goldendoodle, one of our favorite furry friends! Handsome Benny had a great visit with Dr. Bret today and is just as excited for the weekend as we are! TGIF! 🐾

🐾 Spotlight on one of our favorite patients, Sam. Sam is an 11 year old Beagle, that presented to us a few weeks ago, just not feeling like Sam! After his exam, lab tests and radiographs; a 7x7 inch abdominal mass was discovered. Exploratory surgery was performed and the tumor was found to be growing in his spleen. A splenectomy was completed to remove the offending tumor and sent off to pathology...

Thankfully, the tumor was benign and at his 2 week recheck and suture removal he received an A+ from Dr. Bret! According to his owner, Sam is back to his old self and we are thankful that our team had the opportunity to help with his care!
