Pregnant & Postpartum Intervention - PPI

Pregnant & Postpartum Intervention - PPI PPI has led evidence-based intervention services, outreach, and education to schools and homes in the rural as well as urban communities.

The Pregnant Postpartum Intervention (PPI) Program provides community based, gender specific outreach and intervention services for pregnant or postpartum adult and adolescent women at risk for, or with substance use/abuse problems, and if referred by CPS The Aliviane Pregnancy and Postpartum (PPI) Program has served the El Paso community for many years, focusing on the population of pregnant or postpartum women. PPI makes programs more accessible to young pregnant women, mothers, adult women, and their families. Additionally, the PPI program is working with the State of Texas to help fight opioid addiction. Under the PPI program we specifically help with the prevention of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). Most drugs can pass from you to your baby. Taking certain drugs and/or medications during pregnancy puts your baby at risk. Once your baby is born, they are no longer getting the drugs and may start to have symptoms of withdrawal, which is called NAS.
