These photos were taken exactly a month a part during our teletherapy myo sessions. This beautiful 10 year old girl demonstrated significant forward head posture, receding chin, lip incompetence due to mouth breathing, poor sleep and several speech sound errors. A month later I’m blown away by the physical changes, the improvement in her speech and most importantly, the visible increase in confidence. 💖 This is what happens when the puzzle is worked on from all sides 🤌🏼🤌🏼

🎭Masking…many of us carry it into adulthood. And in our predominantly Mexican community I think it is even more prevalent, as obedience and respect for authority is ingrained in us from the time we can talk. I saw it in my grad school program, in different work settings, and even in my own friends. We do it to be accepted, liked, and to prove we belong. Time to break the cycle with these kids 💖

When a client and family are doing everything you ask and the child still has to work so hard to make certain lingual movements and you can see the muscles of the face and tongue trembling and you have to fight against the jaw…it’s usually indicative of a restriction. Luckily this client lives in California and I have referred them to .norazaghi who’s about an hour and a half from them. This kiddo also struggles with open mouth breathing, lip incompetence and several atypical speech sound errors.

I found the BEST book for speech at where I held sessions today. 😊 When using books with toddlers, I never worry about going page by page or even reading the words. We jump from page to page looking at pictures and when something catches their attention I give them the words. 💖
