🎄💚 Holiday cheer delivered! Our team packed 51 Christmas Angel Tree stockings filled with goodies—crayons, candy, mini Legos, stuffed animals, and more—for students across the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools ECPPS.

A big thank you to our amazing team for spreading joy and to ECPPS counselors for helping us share the love this Christmas!

🎁 Giving Thanks, One Box at a Time! 🦃✨

Our amazing SAMC team came together to spread holiday cheer in a BIG way! Each department pitched in to donate Thanksgiving staples plus a $25 gift card so families could pick up a main dish like turkey or ham.

The result? 43 boxes of goodness! 🙌 These boxes were delivered to Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools ECPPS, where guidance counselors and administrators made sure they reached families who needed them most.

This is what community looks like—and we’re so proud to be part of it! 💛

Our Saturday community health fair at Snug Harbor Community Church (Hertford, N.C.) was a success! 🎊 🎉 🙌

Sentara Health cancer community educators screened 11 women for breast cancer, 4 men for prostate cancer and 4 people for colorectal cancer. We also connected with a family in need of community resources/needs of the aging and educated a few younger families about the dangers of smoking/vaping.

There’s nothing like coming together to improve the health of our communities.

“Some of the farmers think they’re healthy and will avoid going to the doctor. Sentara is bringing it to us and we’re very grateful for that,” said Chris Taylor, community member of Herford, North Carolina.

This Saturday, November 8, Sentara's 3D mammography van will be at Snug Harbor Community Church in Hertford, N.C., and it’s the first time Sentara Health has offered prostate cancer screenings in the area.

We are focusing on breast, prostate, and colon cancer screenings at this event, as well as talking about November as Lung Cancer Awareness month.

We will have information on lung cancer screening (Low-Dose CT scan) and how to schedule a screening as well as providing smoking cessation programs/resources.

Happy Halloween from the SAMC team!! 🎃🤡🍬🦇🧛🧟 Check out these spooky and creative pumpkins decorated by our very own team members.

Telemetry is the Queen of Hearts, fitting considering they monitor the heart rates of patients.

Our Supply Chain team said the words, “It’s on back order!” are enough to send shivers down their spine.

And the “Eye”CU (intensive care unit) made sure they had their eye on the prize.

💉 Community health in action!

Our annual drive-thru flu vaccination clinic was a huge success! More than 200 people came by to get their free flu shot, and our staff loved connecting with the community while helping everyone stay protected this season.

If you missed it, there’s still time to get your flu shot before the holiday season. Don't forget, it takes about two weeks for the vaccine to become fully effective!
