Fire Cupping Session 🔥
that uses heat and suction to create a vacuum in glass cups, drawing blood to the skin's surface to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and aid relaxation by promoting healing in affected areas. A practitioner briefly inserts a flame into a cup, then places it on oiled skin, causing the air to cool and contract, creating suction that lifts the skin and causes temporary circular marks, often used for sports recovery, congestion, and general wellness.
How it works
Heat creates vacuum: A flammable substance (like alcohol-soaked cotton) is lit inside a glass cup, and quickly removed, heating the air inside.
Suction: As the air cools, it contracts, creating a vacuum that pulls skin and superficial muscle into the cup.
Blood flow: This suction draws blood and oxygen to the area, promoting healing and detoxification.
Gliding: Cups can also be moved across oiled skin for a sliding massage effect, called "gliding cupping".
Common uses and benefits
Pain Relief: Alleviates muscle soreness, stiffness, and back pain.
Improved Circulation: Enhances blood flow to damaged or cold areas.
Detoxification: Helps move stagnant blood, toxins, and deoxygenated blood.
Respiratory Issues: Can help with colds and congestion by drawing out impurities.
Relaxation: Engages the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress.
What to expect
Circular Marks: Dark red or purple circles appear where cups were placed, indicating increased circulation, not bruising, and fade within days.
Not recommended for those with sensitive skin, certain conditions (like eczema, epilepsy), or on blood thinners.
