Get ready to Plant a Valentine to yourself, family, community, and planet. Green Saves Green's sixth annual free native tree giveaway is set for Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14. Stop by any of four locations to pick up your bare-root seedlings. This year, we've added a popular native shrub - silky dogwood - suitable for a partially shady spot in any yard. Two per person, first-come, first-served while supplies last.

Pasquotank Animal Services is now up and running for the first time, operating in the same shelter space that the SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina called home for years. The SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina transferred its shelter operations to the county after a number of alleged violations in a letter sent on behalf of the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in summer 2025.

✨Rachel is a survivor of deep loss, addiction, and hopelessness. As a single mom working multiple jobs, she lived in survival mode while quietly falling apart. Alcohol was not the root — she felt lost, ashamed, and believed her children would be better off without her. She survived a su***de attempt and entered recovery without knowing what hope even was. Recovery taught Rachel how to stay, how to ask for help, and how healing can begin even from the darkest places.✨

Beloved Haven's Rooted in Grace Conference-Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church, is a women's event designed to empower women through education and community building. By hearing from speakers and sharing stories, women can feel more encouraged, validated, and inspired to become change agents in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics that are addressed during our GRACE Jail Program. 🩵

✨Get ready to be inspired by some dynamic and exceptional guest speakers! These women will truly inspire you with their powerful stories of overcoming adversity and achieving extraordinary goals, their personal experiences and insights gained from years of leadership and service.
