Here is a major update on the rebuilding process:
We had a status conference yesterday with the architectural team and we accomplished a great deal, basically going room by room and reviewing the most minute details of each room and their individual functions, pedestrian flow, lighting, and the litany of commercial building code requirements. Right now it is around 4,500 sq. ft., but that is just a starting point. We were also able to figure out where to place the building on the lot so it is more convenient to our clients and visitors, which will be slightly closer to the street and the front entrance will align better with the existing crosswalk. The interior is going to be pretty straightforward with "traffic flow" the key component so that guests do not become "bottlenecked" when they enter the building for visitations and services. The floor plan will likely have to be adjusted as we move along, but the basics are complete. They also presented us with several concepts for the exterior, and in our typical ways we instantly selected one without discussion. It's going to be awfully nice!! We have another status conference in two weeks where we will select the final exterior design between two concepts they are working on as well as a preliminary, sort of final, interior plan. Things are getting real now, we are excited and nervous at the same time, but things are really moving along nicely. We will post the designs for you all to see when we have everything nailed down. We can't wait to start a countdown timer for move in!
