From Med-Aide to Regional Director of Operations—meet Katie Fester 🌟

What began as a CNA role in 2006 became a purpose-driven career rooted in heart, leadership, and a passion for doing better—for teams, residents, and families. From CNA to MA, office manager, Executive Director, and now Regional Director, Katie’s journey is fueled by one goal: creating communities where people love to work, residents love to live, and families feel confident in the care their loved ones receive.

Outside of work, Katie is a proud boy mom cheering on select baseball ⚾, navigating friendly NFL rivalries, and capturing memories through photography and digital photo books. Born in Colorado, raised in Iowa, and rooted in Omaha, she continues to make a meaningful impact across multiple Agemark communities.

In the new article “Hosting a Holiday Dinner When Your Loved One Has Dementia,” April McKenna, our VP of Talent & Organizational Development, reminds us to “meet them where they are” to create a calmer, more comfortable celebration for everyone.

🎖️ On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day (December 7, 1941), we honor the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes. As part of our ongoing commitment to veterans, we’ve partnered with Patriot Angels to help veterans and their spouses access benefits that can make senior living more affordable. And as our thank you, veterans and their spouses never pay a community fee. We’re proud to give back to those who gave so much.

What a fantastic night at the Greater Omaha Chamber event! Astoria Senior Living and Agemark were thrilled to partner together—and our culinary team absolutely shined. 😄

Adam, our talented Culinary Manager at Astoria Omaha, and Daniel, our VP of Culinary Services, served up an unforgettable carving station with beautifully prepared meats, handcrafted sauces, and even fresh-made potato chips. Guests couldn’t stop talking about it, and our booth quickly became one of the most popular stops of the night!

We loved connecting with local business leaders, sharing great food, great conversation, and giving them a taste of the exceptional hospitality and service you’ll find at Astoria Senior Living.
