I’m going to start off by saying that I’m not one for food restrictions (unless it’s an allergy/intolerance)!

This is just a list of alternatives to foods that may be triggering some inflammation in your body, especially ones you may have on a regular basis.

Some symptoms that are signs of inflammation in the body include:
▪️Fatigue
▪️Muscle/joint pain
▪️Brain Fog Anxiety/depression ▪️Constipation/diarrhea
▪️Difficulty sleeping

Reminder, these symptoms are not “just the way you are” but are signals from our body that something needs our attention.

See how it feels in your body if you swap out some foods!

Like I said, I live by the 80/20 (ish) concept where the majority of the time I’m eating foods that energize and make me feel good.

Please don’t deprive yourself of something you really love because it's on the inflammatory side. Food restrictions can cause major stress which does even more harm on the body!‼️

A couple weeks ago, I was able to sneak away for 2 quick nights in Las Vegas to attend a conference with my husband, Jordan (and my parents were there too!). 🙌

I was so lucky to have seen John Maxwell speak, AGAIN! He is so inspiring and hilarious.🤩 I wanted to share one of my take-aways….

He stressed the importance of communication and gave some advice on how to improve communication. John’s first quote on effective communication was “Get over yourself. Laugh at yourself because everyone else is.” 🤣

I loved it! Often our ego gets in the way, and we have to remember most often people actions are not about us and we don’t need to take things personally.

Such a fun two days and in between the conference, we got to check out the Sphere and its IMAX show, the Mob museum, and had a great view of the Bellagio fountain show!

And had to snag a picture of Jordan’s company showcased! So proud! 😍

Research has shown that what we eat either heals or harms. 😮

In fact, most diseases, depression, cancer, autoimmune, chronic fatigue, heart disease, etc., are all inflammatory diseases‼️

So while many foods contribute to inflammation, many foods provide the most powerful source of anti-inflammatory components! 🙌

This can feel daunting, so I typically suggest to focus on what you want more of, rather than what you want to reduce. It’s not about restricting but adding more nourishing foods.

Often adding in more healing foods will naturally “crowd out” the harmful foods. 😉

Here are some simple and small steps for more healing foods that will have a BIG impact:
⭐️ Have vegetables with each meal (mix up the colors! 🥬🥕🍅
⭐️ Include omega 3 fats everyday - examples are salmon, flaxseeds, walnuts, almonds
⭐️ Cook with spices and herbs (cilantro, rosemary, ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, etc.)- they have powerful healing properties!
⭐️ Aim for MORE home cooked meals
⭐️ Incorporate fruits for added sweetness and antioxidants

Instead of New Years Resolution, I’m focusing on what I want more of day to day and being intentional with my time. 🙏

Sometimes I’m not intentional and can be impulsive, especially with tasks, sending me waaay off track🤣!

In particular, when it comes to my kids, I’m with them A LOT and I do A LOT for them but that’s different than doing things WITH them - the things they want to do. So I want to do more with them doing the things they like! It’s hard to fit it all in and I definitely try but that’s a focus of mine! 🩷
