How many times have you shown up for an IEP meeting only to find out that a member or members of your child's IEP team aren't there?🙋‍♀️ And then someone asks you to sign an excusal form, excusing the missing team members.

Don't do it! Let the team know you understand your rights. IEP team members may be excused from meetings, if parents are told in advance and agree to excuse the team member in writing. Next time, you expect all team members to be present; if a team member can't make it, the school needs to tell you ahead of time so that you have the opportunity to reschedule the meeting so that team member can be present.
