📣 Support staff needed for people using Self-Direction!

At sasi, we support people in many different ways.

One of those is Self-Direction, and it can be life-changing.

Self-Direction gives people with intellectual and developmental disabilities more control over how their supports look day to day.

People build a plan around their life, their goals, and what matters most to them.

Our Support Brokers play a big role in that. They work alongside people who choose to self-direct, helping them identify and connect with staff who can support them in their daily lives.

While sasi is not the employer, brokers help make those connections based on each person’s unique needs.

We’ll soon be spotlighting people who are self-directing their services and currently looking to hire staff to support them.

These posts will highlight who they are, what matters to them, where they’re located, and the kind of support they’re looking for.

👉 So follow along if you (or someone you know) may be interested in supporting someone through self-directed services, and help us find staff by sharing these posts!

For the past two years, Kevin has been receiving support from sasi.

When he shared how much he missed the familiar comforts of his former home, especially the joy of spending time in the kitchen, our team rallied around him to nurture one of his favorite passions: baking.

Kevin soon began creating everything from gingersnap cutouts to chocolate chip cookies and even homemade pies 🍪🥧

Special shout out to our staff member Mark R. Cordz, who helped Kevin create a personalized recipe scrapbook complete with photos, stories, and the memories behind each treat.

Direct Support Professionals support people with developmental disabilities in the everyday moments most of us take for granted.

They help with routines, skill-building, and navigating daily life in the community. But just as important, they build trust, consistency, and relationships over time.

It’s quiet work. It’s skilled work. And it plays a huge role in helping people live full, meaningful lives.
