Newman Regional Health is the most capable critical access hospital in Kansas.

As a fully functional acute care hospital, we stand ready to provide emergency medical, surgical, obstetrical, heart attack, stroke, Level IV Trauma Center, ICU and on-site helicopter and land transport services 24 hours a day. Newman Regional Health provides award-winning, state of the art healthcare 24 hours a day to patients of all ages in our primary service area which includes all of Lyon County and most of Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee Counties in east-central Kansas. Newman Regional Health is proud to partner with Emporia State University to provide a Baby Rest Stop at this Saturday’s home football game vs. Pitt State!

Whether you need a quiet space to nurse, change a diaper, or just take a break with your little one, stop by our comfortable Baby Rest Stop located at Visser Hall from 11am-end of game, near the Live at the Hive tailgate area.

We’re proud to share that Steven Bazan, Executive Director of Strategy & Business Development at Newman Regional Health (front row center), was recently honored by the Kansas Hospital Association as a graduate of the 2025 KHA Leadership Institute. Steven was one of just 31 healthcare professionals across the state to complete this prestigious program.

“We are committed to strengthening and promoting the leadership capacity of hospital employees in Kansas,” said Chad Austin, president and CEO of the Kansas Hospital Association. The KHA Leadership Institute was created to empower hospital leaders with the personal and professional tools they need to drive meaningful change and innovation within Kansas hospitals.

We congratulate Theresa, RN (Women's Life Center) on her second and third nominations for The DAISY® Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
Theresa received two most recent nominations from patients who said, "My husband came in for his second knee replacement I requested for him to be on the 4th floor because I knew he would get the best care, the nurses are always so caring and passionate. Today, he has Theresa Whitaker RN!! She was the best and a rock star; he really felt comfortable with her taking care of him and he enjoyed her company when I wasn’t in the room. She came in with a smile on her face and was concerned about his pain, she also offered to walk him in the hallway so he could be discharged. She took her time out of her busy day to be so attentive towards him which meant a lot to us, it’s hard to find a nurse like that. Thank you again Theresa for such a great care you gave my hubby, hope they know how lucky they are to have you there. We hope in the future we will have you as our nurse, words can’t say enough."
