This has been an unimaginable past 12 months, and it's taken its toll in more ways than one. The constant unknowns, changes in our routines + work, and disappearance of our social structure has left us in need of some extra care.

When you're under stress, it's easy to feel unmotivated, overwhelmed, tired, and have major cravings. What can help, is using supportive nutrition & lifestyle practices to give your body what it needs right now, and start to feel like yourself again.

The Stress Reset program is designed to support your nervous system + stress response using holistic methods, such as nutrition, stress management practices, journaling, supplements/herbs, and connection with like-minded women. The tools & information you'll receive in this program can increase your energy & resilience and improve your ability to handle stress - naturally.

The program starts March 10th. Click below learn more.

What a year. I don’t know, that when reflecting on a past year, that I’ve ever learned so much. Frustrating, overwhelming, confusing ... sometimes. But also:
🔹appreciating the wonderful, strong, inspiring people in my life more than ever before.
🔹taking portions of my life less seriously & learning to go with the flow.
🔹learning that sometimes less is more. Less planning, less hustle, less hectic schedules will be my new normal.
🔹more meaningful involvement in causes important to me & my community.
🔹getting quiet is sometimes the best thing to “do.”
Thank you #2020, but I sure am ready for 2021 🎉
And yes, that is marshmallow on my nose 🙃

If you're looking for a quick break from all the 🗳 craziness, please read my new interview with SD Voyager! I was so excited when SD Voyager asked me to be a part of their new series this year to talk about Nutrition Bliss, women's health, and the inspiration that brought me here!
I love what I do, & love to share it.

I needed to get really quiet over the past few months.
Like everyone else, my world turned upside down. And it required me to press pause. I needed time to reacclimate.
I needed to be 100% at home, focused on my family, and creating safety & routine.
But I focused so hard on everyone else being okay, I somehow lost myself.
ALL of my routines and supportive structures went out the window. When I needed them most, I let them go.
I reverted back to my old comforts. Trading drinking lots of water, meditating, & journaling for watching TV, drinking too much coffee, craving salty comfort foods, staying up late & sleeping in.
That’s not all. My business was affected & I watched all I had worked for the past 3 years shrink overnight. I felt depressed. I took it personally.
I was off track and I knew it. It was a clear example of what I know is true: when we are under major stress, we revert back to our old patterns & comfort zone.
It took me time to grieve what I {felt like I} lost. I had to be patient and go through the process.
I believe it's important to share our stories of why it's okay to not be okay right now, and know we can each come back when we're ready.
I share more in my recent blog, linked below.

This time is challenging us all in big ways, and ☝️ right here is how we start to find some balance.
All the external things that we had depended on to structure our day, schedule, time, mood, etc. have significantly changed. Leaving us with the one place {we sometimes like to avoid} to bring us back into balance. Ourselves.
This time is calling for some major self-awareness & supportive habits.
Simple practices & a regular routine are what we need to create that internal structure we are all CRAVING right now.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about these simple but powerful practices (belly breathing, importance of morning routines, calming herbs, and more) that help reduce stress and when combined create a supportive internal structure for our days ahead.

The format may be different, but the connection & mission are the same.
I am so excited to begin joining other local female practitioners to share our knowledge & support women’s health. First up, I’ll be joining postpartum, women’s health PT expert tomorrow on her page for an InstaLive discussion! And next week (5/14) will be on my page sharing all her knowledge on pelvic floor strength, back pain, and more! Cant wait to share. Xo

Boost your mood.
Boost your immunity.
Boost your energy.
It’s all connected.
One {seemingly} small step towards supporting yourself now has a massive ripple effect.
We can get down on ourselves if we’re not doing it all perfectly.
You don’t need to.
Just make that one small choice now, and it will make your next choice {later today} that much easier.
Start with what’s simple: Go to bed by 10pm each night. In the morning, begin with a 20 minute walk, by yourself. Or simply pause when feeling stressed and belly breathe.
Pick one thing. And see how getting good at that one thing makes the next thing that much easier. xo

I needed this today!! Loving this recipe from . It’s easy to always do the same thing, so I was excited to pull this together for my afternoon/post workout snack. Smoothies are incredibly simple & you don’t need to follow the recipe exactly. Here are a couple examples of substitutions I made:
- cashew milk instead of coconut, because I had it in the fridge & don’t want it to go to waste!
- Used a fresh banana instead of frozen & just added extra ice to thicken it up.
- Added 1 tbsp flaxseed & 1 tbsp almond butter for some extra protein & fiber.
- Didn’t use the maple syrup bc I found it was already sweet enough for me!
It was DELICIOUS and definitely hit the spot!! It also satisfied my sweet tooth so I might not need my daily 3pm dark chocolate fix 🍫 ♥️

If I had to sum up our experience so far, it would be brutiful. Thank you for creating the most accurate word I can think of to describe this moment.

The Beautiful:
Slowing down our pace of life. I didn’t realize how rushed, scheduled, and overwhelming our life had become.
Transitioning to a life full of walks outside, art projects, family conversations, and creativity has been a beautiful opportunity.
Grateful I share a home with my 3 favorite humans. I cannot imagine how much different this experience would be if I were still single & living alone.
The dedication of my sister to continue to show up and serve her patients while knowingly being exposed to COVID 19. Every day.
Thankful for the sunshine, so we can take lots of sanity breaks in our own yard.

The Brutal:
So many people in my life are in healthcare. My sister. My husband. My dad. Hearing their realities & experiences from urban but not surging areas (yet) in this country is sobering. This is why we are taking the shelter-in-place order very seriously. Because when you know better, you do better.
Close friends’ industries & careers disappearing or significantly impacted with uncertainty of what will come next.
The news. Concern for others health (both mentally & physically). At-risk populations access to shelter & food. The pressure on our healthcare system and concern for everyone who works within it’s wellbeing.
Managing homeschooling, cooking, cleaning, refereeing, creating peace & certainty wherever we can, while trying to find space for myself.

I want to cry (and often do) every day.
I move between overwhelm, awe, sadness, joy, and gratitude multiple times an hour. Processing everything. And coming to terms with the massive changes while working to establish our new normal. I know how good we have it, and I'm incredibly thankful.
It’s brutiful.
