☕🧠 New Study Finds a Boost for Your Brain! 🧠☕

Interesting news: a long-term study of more than 130,000 people found that drinking moderate amounts of caffeinated coffee or tea daily was linked with a lower risk of developing dementia and slower cognitive decline as we age. The strongest associations were seen in people who drank about 2–3 cups of caffeinated coffee or 1–2 cups of caffeinated tea each day — while decaf didn’t show the same benefit.

Researchers say this doesn’t prove caffeine prevents dementia, but it adds to evidence that your daily cup (or two) might be one piece of the brain health puzzle along with good diet, exercise, and sleep.

A huge review of 48 clinical trials (over 94,000 people!) just found that GLP-1 meds 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 — even though earlier studies hinted they might.

💥 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞:
These meds are still powerhouses for weight loss and diabetes, but 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫-𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬… at least not yet. Longer-term data still to come.

New Migraine insight!

A new study found that unexpected disruptions in your daily routine — called “surprisal” events — can sharply raise migraine risk...the next day.

Things like eating much more than usual, staying up late, sudden stress, or even unexpected good news were linked to a 56% higher migraine risk within 12 hours and 88% within 24 hours.

The takeaway: keeping a steady routine may help prevent attacks, and noticing these “surprise” deviations might help predict when a migraine is coming.

The rise in colon cancer among people in their 40s is significant enough that screening guidelines have shifted — routine colonoscopies now start at age 45 instead of 50.

A recent study also highlights a concerning link between "ultra-processed" foods and colorectal cancer, such as packaged breads and breakfast foods, sauces and condiments, and sugar-sweetened or artificially sweetened drinks.

Choosing "whole," minimally processed foods can make a meaningful difference for your long-term health. Think fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds, and unprocessed meats, fish, and eggs.
