Been awhile since I posted but this is giggle worthy.

Xander ((14)) has a friend over. They are in and out of the house ((typical)).

I offered hot pockets as a snack. Xander said his friend had NEVER had a hot pocket. I said oh you’re in for a treat. 😂
Wait what? 😳 A kid who’s never had a hot pocket? Say it ain’t so!! I’m feeling like a horrible mother. 😂

I want to say thank you to so many who reached out to give my mom a big birthday and lifting me UP in the process. If you are close to me please bear with me. I know I share some of the same stories over and over again. But, my memories are all I have. I am grateful for all she shared. All she taught me.

Grief is a tricky thing. I don’t believe it gets better. We just cope as best as we can until we meet again. When it wasn’t cool to be pregnant at 15, she chose ME. I’m so blessed. She did so good by me, even though life wasn’t always easy.

Thank you for lifting ME up on her day. I can only hope I am half the woman/mother/companion and friend she was.

As many of you know, I lost my mom on 10/01/2010. Since then Mother’s Day has been extremely hard. As a matter fact, every day seems to be challenging since the day I lost my mother Who was also my best friend and business partner. I lived with her longer than even she anticipated. While it wasn’t always roses, I couldn’t have asked for a better role model. God did good when he gifted me with you. Some days are easier than others, but mothers today seems to be quite the challenge for me. This year I had many people who made it very special for me. I am especially grateful to the girl who made ME a mama. Cassidy, you could never know how much I truly and deeply love you. From the moment you were conceived we have literally been inseparable. You make my heart smile and I give great thanks for all you do.

I also give great thanks to Roberto and Xander for all of the love and special treats that you bestow on me. Not just yesterday, but every day.

Just to share a few of the things I was gifted: a clean house from top to bottom, ((letting go of my many mommy duties for the day)); Crabcakes ((to die for)); big bouquet of beautiful flowers, 3 - 3 musketeer bars ((because they’re my favorite yes I ate them all)) and tres leches cake. So much more to add, but I don’t want to show off!! My daughter and I will be going for our pedicure after my doctors appointment tomorrow. I feel so blessed.

I hope each and everyone of you had a special day as I did.
