Good to see a local hub supporting EHCPs and kids with SEN
I recently visited Empathy for Special Children and met with Sam Goddard to chat about their exciting new site in Craven Arms.
Founded in 2010, the charity supports children with hidden disabilities such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and sensory processing disorder – with or without a formal diagnosis. Over the years they’ve helped hundreds of children and families across Shropshire through their Connect sessions and family support groups.
They’re now about to open their very first Inclusion Hub in the old Barclays Bank building. This safe and welcoming space will offer connect sessions, benefit and housing advice, EHCP applications, and much more – not just for children and families, but for the whole community.
Their aim is to bring people together, combat loneliness, and provide vital support – and it’s fantastic to see the hub almost ready to open by the end of the month.

A huge well done to Sam and the whole team at Empathy for Special Children
