Congratulations to Brett Connelly BSN, RN, BC, one of our recent DAISY Award winners.

Brett is described as kind, professional, and someone who always puts the patient and their care first. She is a true team player, always offering to help other team members.

Brett achieved certification in psychiatric nursing and now buddies up with other RNs to assist them with obtaining their certification.

When in a patient’s room, Brett pulls up a chair next to the patient to let them know her focus and time is directed at them. As a result, patients feel important and engaged in longer nursing interventions. Family members often call her unit asking specifically for Brett because she has made such a positive impression on them and their loved one during admission.

Congratulations, Brett!

DAISY Award was developed in 1999 to recognize for their clinical skill, and the compassion that they provide to patients and families all year long.

Today on Good Morning America: our own Harvey Weber, vice president of facilities management and emergency preparedness, tells his story.

Last year, Harvey collapsed on a golf course in Florida. When he tried to call for help, the facial recognition on his phone failed repeatedly. Instantly, he knew he was having a stroke.

Harvey’s experience as a first responder prepared him to recognize the early signs of and take action that saved his life—lessons he now wants to share with others.

See the incredible story below.

An emergency medical services worker was able to recognize that he was having a stroke and it could have potentially saved his life.
