Today we reach the midpoint between winter solstice and spring equinox. We've overcome the darkest period! As days lengthen, Mother nature's wisdom continues to inspire me. The bizarre weather in North America underscores escalating extremes. Our community is experiencing heightened tensions. The intensity is palpable. The pressure of it is oppressive.

As the sun's warmth increases, I pray for those feeling helpless to tap into their inner strength...for those who have the strength right now, lift up another and for those seeking power over to melt their hearts and choose a different path. At our core, we all crave connection, meaningful relationships, safety, and a sense of belonging. Perhaps the towers must fall for a some real change to emerge, and I’m hoping that what emerges is more beautiful than one can imagine.

Honoring winter solstice is such a beautiful tradition. Knowing the dark times are necessary in this life…as hard as they may be. Now a space to pause…to just be…to marinade in the space between. Knowing the light always returns.

Yoga teacher training was a pivotal experience in my life, and twenty years later, I'm still passionate about it. Currently, I'm studying the foundations of prana vinyasa with Devon Sweeney, a skilled teacher trained by Shiva Rea. I'm thankful for the opportunity to continue learning and growing.

This January, I'll be leading a prenatal yoga module for Sandhya Yoga's 300-hour teacher training. The program is open to all yoga teachers, as it's essential to know how to support pregnant students in their classes.

This year, these golden beauties have been especially abundant—and it feels like no coincidence. Herbalists often say that the medicine of a plant shows up when and where it’s most needed. With so much collective stress in our world, it’s no wonder California poppy is showing up as an ally. 🌿

New article in print! This is the study that I wanted to do when I first started my PhD and finally now I am able to do this work with some amazing people like Amy Loree and Sara Santarossa at Henry Ford Hospital System in Detroit, MI.

Fun story, Amy and I brainstormed (over ten years ago) around prenatal yoga as an intervention in our PhD schooling and both tried to do it and the research just didn't get off the ground. Amy then took my full prenatal yoga teacher training which was so much fun. We are running this RCT right now and hopefully will have some results early next year. And one of the people I trained in the Detroit area is leading the yoga classes.

Sometimes my work is really gratify.
