Enterprise Women’s Center is pleased to announce that we will continue to deliver your babies and care for you and your growing families! For the last 24 years, it has been a privilege to care for pregnant women in Enterprise and the Wiregrass area. Our patients trust us at one of the most important times in their lives.
As many of you are aware, over the last several months, we considered ending our obstetrics practice at the end of the year. Obstetrics is a demanding profession, especially with our volume of patients and the on-call time that is required. But we are also aware that discontinuing our practice of obstetrics would leave our community and the hospital without any delivering providers. This has been a difficult decision for us and our families.
This is a crisis that many small communities in Alabama and nationwide have faced and will continue to face. Many leaders and people in our community at the local, state, and federal level have reached out as we worked through this decision. Thanks to the support of the Enterprise Health Care Authority, Mayor Cooper, the Enterprise City Council, and the City of Enterprise, Enterprise Women’s Center will continue providing our community with obstetric services. We will begin accepting new OB patients again immediately. Over the next months and years, we will be working on the local and state level to recruit young physicians into our community. It is crucial that we work as a community in doing this so that our city can continue to grow and prosper in all areas. Strong local healthcare access remains essential for that growth.
We appreciate your patience as we worked through this decision. We love what we do, and thanks to the encouragement and support of our patients, friends, employees, the city, and many others, we look forward to continuing to serve our patients.
