Most communities aren’t failing because they lack effort.

They’re struggling because their systems aren’t connected.

We’ve built shelters.
We’ve built programs.
We’ve built housing.

And still—people fall through the cracks.

That’s not a resource problem.

That’s a system design problem.

Over the past two decades, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of this work from multiple angles—mental health, shelter, transitional housing, and now large-scale housing development.

And one thing has become clear:

The issue isn’t whether solutions exist.
It’s whether they’re connected.

🌟🌟A HUGE MILESTONE FOR UNITY HOMES🌟🌟

We are incredibly grateful to share that Unity Homes has received our very first grant to help support our vision and future work here in Wallowa County.

This funding will allow us to engage in strategic planning, strengthening our foundation and helping us thoughtfully prepare for what’s ahead as we work toward creating safe, supportive housing for adults in our community.

This grant was made possible through a generous gift from The Ford Family Foundation, and we are deeply appreciative of the support that helps small, rural nonprofits like ours take meaningful steps forward.

Most importantly, this moment reinforces what we’ve believed from the beginning: Unity Homes is moving in the right direction. We are building something sustainable, community-centered, and rooted in long-term impact.

🌱 A Message From Unity Homes to Our Community 🌱

We have received many messages from community members asking about what housing Unity Homes currently has available and honestly, our hearts are so full knowing how many people are already reaching out for help, hope or just concerned citizens.

At this time, Unity Homes does not yet have houses open. We are a brand-new nonprofit here in Wallowa County and we are still in the very important stage of raising the funds needed to open our first home.

Every step we take right now is focused on making sure when our doors do open, they open safely, sustainably, and with the loving, structured care our community deserves.

The need for safe, supportive housing is real and we want to bring that support to our community members!

Unity Homes was created for our county and our local people for those who need a structured, caring place to finally call home.

We are here for: 🏠 Individuals whose parents can no longer provide the support they need

The need for supportive mental health housing is high across the entire state but our hearts are right here, in our small rural region. We opened Unity Homes because our community matters, and because everyone deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and valued.
