Do you ever feel guilty for resting or not always being productive?
You’re not alone.

Many perfectionists believe rest equals laziness—but that pressure touches every part of life. From believing anything less than an A+ is failure, to working overtime to prove your worth, to chasing a “perfect body” society tells us to have—it’s exhausting.

Rest is powerful. So is giving yourself permission to have fun and do things just because you enjoy them. These moments refill your cup so you can keep going, and they’re essential for caring for your body and mind.

➡️ When will you give yourself permission to rest—or simply enjoy life—this week?

Do you have an “all-or-nothing” mindset—either going all in or not at all? If so, this is for you. ✨

Reminder: Small actions add up. You don’t need a complete life overhaul to make meaningful changes.

Try these 3 simple shifts:

➡️ Embrace “good enough” – Let go of perfection. It’s okay if the kitchen’s messy after dinner—it’s good enough.

➡️ Build break habits – If you tend to push yourself nonstop, pause and take a breather. It makes a difference.

➡️ Practice saying no – You don’t have to do it all. Start saying no to what isn’t urgent or essential.

These small steps help quiet perfectionism and support your mental well-being.

❤️ Which one will you try first?

Su***de is one of the two leading causes of death from an eating disorder — and research shows that 1 in 4 people with anorexia will attempt su***de in their lifetime.

Appearance-based bullying and negative body image put people at even greater risk, making prevention work around body image, weight stigma, and eating disorders all the more critical.

At White Pine Center for Healing, our mission is to change this reality by building a culture of body acceptance, compassion, and understanding. Every time we challenge stigma, talk openly about these issues, and support one another, we create pathways toward healing and hope.

Share this post to help raise awareness and change the narrative! ❤️

➡️ What does life balance mean to you?

Many times when we talk about balancing life, we imagine juggling all aspects of our life equally. We can get caught up thinking all parts of our life are equally important all of the time, so we feel like we have to give all of ourselves in everything we do. In reality, balance means giving what we can where and when it’s needed.

It’s okay not to give all of yourself to work, family, and self all of the time. That’s not what balance is! True balance comes from flexibility and adaptability, not constant perfection 💞

Labor Day can be a reminder that transitions come with every season. Whether you are getting your kids back to school, getting back to routines and schedules, or even just noticing the shift from summer to fall, remind yourself that you don’t need to push yourself into a “back to it” mindset.

Your worth isn’t measured by how quickly you “get back to it”. Give yourself space to ease into it, listen to your body, and know that the pace you are at is enough ❤️

Do This, Not That: Coaches, PE Teachers, & Trainers Edition ⬇️

❌ Don’t: Comment on a student’s weight, shape, or size
✅ Do: Focus on strength, skills, and effort

❌ Don’t: Use exercise as punishment (“5 laps for being late”)
✅ Do: Frame movement as something that builds confidence and connection

❌ Don’t: Push through pain or ignore discomfort
✅ Do: Encourage students to listen to their bodies and rest when needed

❌ Don’t: Promote weight loss or “earning” food
✅ Do: Support performance fueled by nourishment and balance

These small shifts can have a lifelong impact!

School has officially started back up—and so have gym classes, sports tryouts, and performance pressures.

For many kids, movement becomes something they have to do, something they’re judged on, or something tied to body image instead of joy.

But movement doesn’t have to be about being the fastest, the strongest, or the thinnest.
It can be about presence—tuning into your body and moving in ways that feel good, not forced.

Imagine if every child learned that movement is something they get to do—not something they need to earn!

We are working hard to help youth listen to their bodies, move for enjoyment and well-being, and resist toxic messaging around “fit bodies” or achievement-based self-worth ❤️
