We encourage everyone in affected areas to remain vigilant and be prepared for the effects of this storm including possible power outages and road closures.

We want to make sure our Aveanna community is prepared. Patients and their families should follow these tips based on guidance from the Oley Foundation:

• If there is a true medical emergency please call 911.

• Make sure you have back up power or batteries ready for any medical devices or pumps you depend on. Keep a battery powered radio and your cell phone charged so you can stay informed.

• Plug in any medical equipment or devices that need to be charged (e.g., ventilators, feeding pumps, mobile phones, etc.)

• Listen to appropriate warnings from governmental officials advising of precautions and evacuations.

• Check with home care suppliers and medical providers NOW to ensure that you have enough medications and nutritional supplies (formula, HPN, etc.) to last at least 48–72 hours, in case of supply chain delays.

• Write down important telephone numbers in case you cannot access the contacts on your mobile phone. This includes, but is not limited to, your home care company branch, regional and national offices.

Aveanna's Pediatric Day Health Care centers provide expert care in a compassionate and fun environment. They allow medically fragile children to safely enjoy the benefits of play, learning, and friendship with the medical support they need to thrive. For patients like Jaxon, our centers are life changing.

After a premature birth, Jaxon was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a rare congenital heart defect. He spent the first year of his life in and out of the hospital, enduring various diagnoses, setbacks, and procedures. When he was finally stable and thriving at home, his parents looked for some support with his day-to-day care. That's when his mom found out about their local Aveanna PDHC.

"At the center, they know how to care for him, and we don't have to worry," Jaxon's mom shares. "He's eating, talking more, and more active since he started at the center. The interaction with the other kids has been great for him. He's grown a lot in every aspect."

Jax's Aveanna team has become like family, supporting him and helping him improve. Thanks to all his progress, Jax's parents are hopeful that he'll be able to consume all nutrition by mouth and stop using the G-tube in 2026. When he meets this goal, Jaxon can transition to a typical preschool. "We'll miss the care team at the center so much when it's time for him to move on," Jax's mom says. "But it's exciting to know that they have helped him progress so much!"
