Kayla and I went to a phenomenal NRP training with at . We learned so much at this training and are so excited to start implementing what we learned right away. Hopeful we won’t have to use a lot of these new skills, but thankful to have them if necessary. By far the BEST NRP training I’ve done. Highly recommend for any one who attends births outside of the hospital.

We also got to spend some time with our phones off and made a little trip out of it. Feeling very refreshed and rested and so excited for the next few births before taking a bit of time off call to reset before the new year.

Birth announcement! Phoenix was born into the water and then into his papas hands. He is the fourth baby for Jade and first for Alex. Phoenix came quickly after his older siblings left for grandmas house! This was the first homebirth for Jade, and she feels like it was a far better experience than her previous hospital deliveries.

Phoenix came exactly 1 week “late” and weighed in at 8 perfect pounds, and is absolutely adored by his older siblings!

✨Birth Announcement✨

Juniper was born at the end of August, and was the 2nd baby for Zach and Emily. This was the second time I’ve had the privilege of working with this family. Emily’s labor was only about 3.5 hours long. Juniper was born only about 5 minutes after her water broke (completely different than her big brother, who broke his water before labor started!). Juniper was born with her cord wrapped twice very tightly around her neck. I had to help baby out a bit by summersaulting her body over her head to allow her body to be born. USUALLY cords aren’t too big of an issue, but sometimes they can cause a problem like with Juniper. It was resolved quickly and calmly, right in the comfort of Emily’s bedroom.

Juniper weighed in at 9lbs 9oz, and surprised us all!

It has been such a blessing getting to work with this family again.

I had my first homebirth a little over 10 years ago. Tonight that kid and I played Fortnite together after we cooked and ate dinner together. I legitimately thought I’d be pregnant with him forever. But he did eventually come out, just like every baby always does.

Welcome to earth, Thomas! Thomas weighed in at 8lbs 13oz of pure perfection!
Thomas is the second baby for Cam and Jessica. He was born in water at their home in May. This is the second time I’ve gotten to work with this sweet family. It was so fun getting to watch big sister, Penny, be involved in every single prenatal and postpartum visit. This family holds a special place in my heart. I am beyond honored and grateful to have been part of their journey into parenthood for a second time.

Welcome baby Georgia! She was welcomed earthside back in May. This was the first homebirth for McKenzie and Conner. Georgia is so loved by her big brothers and entire family. It was an absolute honor getting to work with this family! She was petite, weighing in at 6lbs 15oz.

I went to write “post birth vibes” but my phone corrected it to “post birth depression”

I thought it was funny at first then remembered how good I was at smiling and appearing happy, while severely struggling with postpartum depression.

This is your reminder to be kind to every postpartum person. Don’t assume they’re fine because they appear to be doing well or have their s**t together.

We never know what type of struggle they’re facing, despite how smiley they may appear.

But also, post birth vibes here and I was so ready for a nap. Then a construction crew kept me awake for an additional 12 hours before finally finishing working on my house. 🥱😆
