"Give Peace A Chance" by John Lennon, is a song I recently heard playing in an ecstatic dance on the other side of the world (shout out to ).

Moved~~I immediately felt my Heart soften, my eyes close and gently water.

I found a smile appearing all over my body, just not my lips. In this intense window of Life, the Fire Horse year of energy has reached straight through me and pulled all this forward.

What if,
What if we come together to Dance
Specifically
To generate Joy, Peace, and Wonder~
These biggest forms of Resistance,
These Agents of Change?

What if,
What if we come together to Dance
Because
Embracing Our Peace is more Powerful
Than we can imagine?

What if,
What if we come together to Dance
As Creators
To uplift the Living and the Dead~
All Beings~
Who are Able~
Not Yet Able~
or Unable?

What if this is the Movement,
We have been waiting for?

I invite you personally to join me and other wonderful Souls as we come together to Dance & Build this Movement on Saturday, April 25 @ 6pm in Eustis, FL.

Join us for another sweet Triangle Ecstatic Dance in North Central Florida (Mt. Dora, Eustis, Tavares, Leesburg) hosted by the UUCLC @ 1235 Mt. Homer Rd, Eustis, Florida.

We will be dropping into the intention "Embrace the Wonderful."

Who Are Your Facilitators?

Lanie McKeever and Rory Jagdeo are ecstatic dance facilitators from Asheville, NC who have been immersed in this free-style movement practice for over 10 yrs. We weave dance waves from various world rhythms and music genres. Lanie is a visionary artist trained in Expressive Arts and holistic counseling and Rory brings a wealth of dance experience and is an accomplished musician.

Dear Ones,

What do you sense in yourself that is ripe for "Renewal"?

This Saturday, March 28th, at 6pm we will be exploring the energy of Renewal in light of the Spring cycle and all the new things being birthed right now.

Come settle your nervous system, ground and move with flowing sound, push and pull what may or may not serve you now, fly into a new being, float and play, and come home to your community of dancers--all in a beautiful 1.5 hour container to help you express your authentic self.

Yesterday, several brave and beautiful souls sought healing and upliftment through the practice of ecstatic dance. At least two were 80 years old!

It goes to show you that the arts, and especially dance, can connect across generations--providing much needed body regulation, peace, and oftentimes, prayer, in these current times.

Pencil in a Spring Equinox ecstatic dance, perhaps on March 21---details to come!

For now, feel free to enjoy the ecstatic dance wave I shared yesterday...though it is unmatched in person! ;P (hint, hint!)

3 days left until our first ecstatic dance in Lake County, Florida!

Who are we, you may wonder?

We are Rory and Lanie (seen below at an ecstatic dance I, Lanie, facilitated over 2 years ago in Asheville, NC). We have been immersed in the ecstatic dance field for over 10 years--as dancers and facilitators--weaving dance waves from various world rhythms and music genres. Since 2021, we have been honing our facilitation for ecstatic dance up in Asheville, NC--playing sacred and healing music waves and holding space for over 100 folx at a time in a big school gym. Lanie is also a visionary artist trained in Expressive Arts and holistic counseling, while Rory brings a wealth of dance experience and is an accomplished musician.

We can attest to the healing that happens in this practice and cannot wait to share space with you!

We will be holding space for our ecstatic dance in the beautiful sanctuary at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lake County, a welcoming and inclusive place with loving people and lovely wooden floors. We will push chairs back, set the mood, and welcome all abilities as we journey together with our bodies and music.

Dance and dancing in community is a great way to regulate our nervous system, generate calm, ease mental chatter, and find new ways to connect to ourselves and to each other.

We will post some updated photos of the dance sanctuary later this week, so please enjoy these photos from the UUCLC.

Dance simultaneously releases serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin while lowering cortisol. When performed in groups, it creates interbrain synchrony that strengthens social bonds. Researchers are now advocating for dance to be considered a front-line treatment for depression.
Whether in a living room or a ballroom, moving to the beat is proving transformative.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

It is ancient--our ancestors and kin danced in their communities to honor cycles, seasons, major life events, death, and everything in-between.

There is no better time to call each other together and move together in unity. You coming together to dance is what makes this practice unique, beautiful, and special.

Ecstatic dance is where:

* No speaking once you enter the dance space...
* Performing or watching others is discouraged...
* We practice kindness and drop judgments...
* Honoring how your body shows consent, 'yes' and 'no' in the space...
