💫My Why 💫
I first found Reiki back in 2016, but the story really starts in 2015. I was a brand-new mom, home alone with a baby most nights while my husband worked, and I was drowning in postpartum anxiety. Nothing was helping. I couldn’t take the usual medications because of how my body reacted, and honestly, I was desperate.
A co-worker and friend suggested Reiki. I had never even heard of it. But I’ve always been a little spiritual — years ago I was into meditation and connecting with my intuitive energy — so I thought, why not? What did I have to lose?
I’ll never forget that first session. I laid on the table and sobbed. By the time it was over, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my chest. For the first time in months, I didn’t feel like I was suffocating. I cried the whole way home, but this time it was relief.
I kept going back for sessions, and the more I experienced it, the more I knew: I needed to learn how to do this for other people. I’ve always wanted to help others, I just didn’t know what that would look like. Reiki showed me. Looking back, it even makes sense — my hands had always gotten hot and tingly around people, and I never really understood why until Reiki came into my life.
By 2017, I was Reiki I & II certified. In 2019, I went on to get my Master Teacher Certification. Since 2018, I’ve also become a Master Certified Life Coach, and I’ve fallen in love with somatics (healing through movement). More recently, I’ve added ASMR to the mix — it’s been such a powerful tool for calming my own busy, neurodivergent brain.
These tools have been life-changing for me. The best part? I get to offer them to others and watch how their lives transform too.
This is why I do what I do. Because I know what it feels like to struggle, and I know how powerful these tools can be. 💜
Much love and healing,
Jen
