Each year UOAA advocates from across the United States engage their elected officials in their state about the importance of raising awareness for lifesaving ostomy surgery.

World Ostomy Day will be held on October 4, 2025. The International Ostomy Association determined this year’s theme as “Invisible Disabilities. Visible Support. The Global Unity of Ostomates.”

This year make your state part of the global movement this October by asking your Governor to issue a state proclamation or letter of support for World Ostomy Day! We did 💚
