Here have a tissue…
It’s not uncommon for tears to be shed. Sometimes they come as soon as you sit down and I ask “what’s going on? How are you feeling?” or trickle down your cheek when finally getting that deep breath you didn’t know you were holding in. Often they flow after the needles are in and your nervous system gets the support it was looking for. Maybe they wait for you to be done with your treatment, in the familiarity of your car and they come as a quiet sob, or perhaps a full on ugly cry.
Don’t hold those tears back, I welcome them all. I encourage you to move that Qi, process whatever it is that’s coming up— even if you can’t name it or understand why you’re even crying. Your body knows, your heart knows, your Shen understands. Don’t apologize for soaking the eye pillow in salty waters or be embarrassed by feeling out of control of your emotions. I’ll take your tears as a compliment— that you feel safe enough to express them in this space that was created for you.
So here, have a tissue and tell me how you really feel because maybe those tears are exactly what you needed today. I promise you’ll leave a little lighter 🥹
