Ever wonder what it’s like to live with anxiety? Do you or someone you love live with anxiety?

Anxiety can vary in severity, from the flutter of butterflies in your stomach to debilitating fear. Common symptoms include:

Feelings of panic, fear, and uneasiness

Problems sleeping

Cold or sweaty hands and/or feet

Shortness of breath

Heart palpitations

An inability to be still and calm

Dry mouth

Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet

Nausea

Being mindful and living in the present allows us to redirect our focus. Negativity and past experiences weigh us down. Nothing can be gained from reliving a moment over and over again in our minds. Set your mind free from pain by living in the present moment.

Start by bringing awareness to routine activities, such as washing dishes, eating lunch, or walking the dog. Paying attention to the physical sensations, sounds, smells, or tastes of these experiences helps you focus. Practice frequently and eventually living in the present will come easier.
