Multiple chest x rays since surgery. Since the fevers it’s been 2 times a day. Key is still working his lungs so he doesn’t catch pneumonia.

Goal for today is continue to exercise his lungs as well as his right side. PT is going to be working with him, and try getting him walking the hallways 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Key started running fevers overnight, and his heart rate was elevated. They got blood cultures done, and put him on IV antibiotics just in case any infections are brewing. They repeated a chest X Ray to see if any collection of fluid lingering around on the inside.

He is getting better at getting himself up out of bed and pivoting to the recliner. Almost at 1000 on the incentive spirometer

Chest x ray done for today. They switched his chest tube from suction to water seal, and maybe have it removed tomorrow 🤯 The PCA was used just once overnight so they plan on taking it away today.

The goal for today is to exercise his right arm, so it doesn’t get too stiff. Try to get him up and out of bed, encouraging him to be a bit more independent. Also continue using the incentive spirometer.

If goals are met we can leave sooner than expected 🤯
