Carel Assisted Living Home LLC is looking for a reliable live-in caregiver with the drive and experience to help us make a difference to those that we serve every day. We are a licensed assisted living facility located in Anchorage, Alaska. We have been operating for more than a decade, promoting dignity, self-worth, and inclusion to all our residents and employees. For this role, we require a minimum of 2 years of experience, and this role will include:
Daily Responsibilities:
-Assist residents daily with basic tasks such as but not limited to assisting with personal laundry, cooking and serving meals, assisting with showers, assist with toileting, dressing, un******ng, oral care, hair care, transfers and ambulation, and any other needs addressed on the resident service plan.
-Assist and supervise residents during medication administration.
-Monitor residents' progress and report it to the administrator and residents’ providers.
-Responsible for the simple charting of daily residents’ activities and residents' progress.
-Maintain resident records in keeping with the state and company guidelines.
-Perform general housekeeping duties in residents' rooms and common areas of the home.
Qualifications:
-Must be at least 18 years of age.
-Must be able to pass the State of Alaska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) background check criteria.
-Must have proof of negative TB test or TB clearance.
-Must have current basic first aid or obtain it within the first 30 days of hire.
-Must have five verifiable references.
-Able to lift 50 pounds and push, pull, or transfer 100 pounds.
-Must have experience working with elderly and/or disabled people.
-Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
-Able to work with residents in a respectful, compassionate manner.
Benefits:
Pay: $33,600 to $42,000 per year / DOE
Free room and board for Live-in caregivers
