Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue is looking for support
-The Chips & Dip Kittens
From their post:
Last week, we welcomed two beautiful litters of baby kitties into rescue 🩵 One mama Fiesta, her 5 week old “Chip” kitties (black and white), and an orphaned litter of 3 week old “Dip” kitties (orange, black, and white)
The “Dip” litter’s mom rejected and abandoned them before they were surrendered to the rescue. Their tiny, fragile bodies made it clear that they had a tough start at life.
Our amazing friend and foster managed to bottle feed them for a few days prior to them making their way to Fairbanks to be taken in by our sweet mama cat & her babies 🥹
Mama Fiesta took them in and began nursing right away 🩵 She has been an amazing mom, so sweet and caring for all of the kitties. Unfortunately for 2 of our babies, it was too late.
On Monday, we unexpectedly lost one of our precious flame point babies overnight 😣 It was heart-wrenching for the whole home and her absence was felt. All other kitties appeared healthy and in good condition but extra pre-cautions were set in place for closer monitoring and additional daily checks.
On Thursday, our fosters noticed a decreased in enthusiasm and “off-ness” in our other flame point kitty. We took them all in for an urgent exam to ensure we were not missing anything and to try to get ahead.
Despite medical intervention and our best efforts, our sweet baby passed last night in the arms of his fosters ❤️🩹
The remaining 3 Dips are still doing well - eating like crazy, screaming for cuddles, and playing all day long. Close monitoring, supplements, specialized diets, and medication treatment will be continued. We are working closely with our vets to address any and all issues as they arise and doing everything we can to help these babies 🥺
Mama Fiesta & the Chip Kittens are healthy and we do not anticipate any issues 🙌
Our wonderful friend Victoria of Fireweed & Cedar Wellness Collective has generously sponsored our Dips Litter 🩵 Her sponsorship covers the cost of care from yesterday 3/12/26, pledges to match donations up to an additional $1,000 for their future care needs, and includes a special red light therapy fundraiser!
For the rest of March, Fireweed & Cedar will be hosting a red light therapy special benefitting FMN! $10 per session will be donated to our Dip Kittens! Their red light therapy combines red and near-infrared light to support natural healing processes in the body and promote overall well-being. You can book your appt here: fireweedcedarwellness.as.me
We are incredibly thankful for Victoria’s help and support of our mission. Partnerships and community connected-ness reminds us of the good in the world when it feels heavy and helpless 🩵
