Hello! I’m so glad that we’ve connected. You may be wondering “what inspired the name Driftwood Counseling LLC?”
When thinking of a name, I wanted something that mirrored our human experience. Driftwood is just that.
Driftwood is shaped by water currents, weather and sand; we move through life and are impacted by experiences, relationships, and traumas. Both journeys are influenced by unpredictable and uncontrollable factors of existence.
During this time, transformation, or change, occurs. Change can be hard - really hard - often requiring us to be resilient so we don’t snap and break. But if we persevere, something beautifully unique can be the result. Perhaps, both have ended up in a different location than originally planned and our identity and how we experience the world around us has evolved.
But that’s okay.
We will be okay.
Change can be enlightening and restorative.
Like driftwood, we are reminded that our resiliency through life's turbulent waters can promote beautiful transformation and a newfound purpose allowing us to thrive.
