Time to share some incredible news…..I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that I am the new owner of in Fairfield! Y4E has been in my life for quite a few years, I’ve been a student that attended yoga classes, a student that earned her certification in Yoga Nidra and I’ve facilitated Yoga Nidra classes from time to time. That being said, I never expected my journey would take me down this path. I really feel so honored to be at the helm of such a precious community. I already have quite a few ideas in the works that I will be sharing with the community, locally and internationally. For example: retreats in Peru and Hawaii are already in the works. As well as offering yoga classes in Spanish virtually from an incredible teacher in Peru. So much more to come!

Hope those that are local will stop by for a visit and those that are out of state will visit us virtually. Classes are offered: in-person, virtually and via Video on Demand.

Happy Monday! Though it might be more like sluggish Monday, unfortunately. Did you know that Monday Blues is actually a thing?

Today, I woke up with the Monday Blues. I woke up sluggish and down. If you know me, I’m a pretty happy and positive person so being sluggish is not something I take well.

So, here is what I did to regroup myself. Thought I would share it with you in case it helps you.

1. Made sure to implement my self-care routine:
1. Drinking 1/2 my weight in ounces of water
2. Applying my Motivational oil on my wrists and on my upper lip every couple of hours
3. Filled up and turned on the diffusers around the house
4. Planned my work out session
5. Playing uplifting music all day
2. Looked at my to-do list
3. Chose three things that were heavy on my mind that I wanted to complete. For example: Re-evaluated my ideal daily routine and purchased what I needed to make it happen. I also looked at what project I wanted to complete ASAP because I was tired of it being on my to-do list.

A post workout meal is just as important as a pre workout meal, don’t deprive your body of the nutrients it needs to help repair and build your muscles.

Timing is everything, so do not wait too long to feed your body after a workout. You want to make sure you eat within 45 minutes of working out.

Create a balanced meal and if you have time constraints, a smoothie might be your answer. It works for me as a busy mom of two boys and as the owner of two businesses.

You want your meals to contain carbs, protein and fats.

Post Workout Smoothie Recipe (Ideally, Organic produce):

One cup of milk or non-dairy milk
One small banana
1/4 cup of fruits (frozen is absolutely fine)
Protein powder
Greens powder, even if you add fresh greens to your smoothie
Fiber powder, optional -
One to two drops of your favorite citrus essential oil - helps cleanse your body. I love either lemon, lime or grapefruit in my smoothies.
1 Tablespoon of fat like: almond butter (any nut butter) or 1/2 an avocado. Totally forgot to add this in my video

Mix in a blender and enjoy! If it’s too thick, just add more milk until it’s the right consistency for you to drink through a straw.

Don’t forget to include enough water throughout the day as well to replenish lost water and electrolytes. 1/2 your weight in ounces of water is your goal, at a minimum :)

Bedtime routine is so incredibly important because ending your day relaxing can only improve the quality of sleep you get. If you are not doing it already, grab a book and enjoy a good story. Let your mind take you to a place of possibilities and dreams. Leave your worries from the day behind and end your day with a full heart. You may even inspire those around you to join in too. Mami and Papi cannot even begin to express the happiness you have brought into our lives. You are loving, patient (especially with your little brother who adores you, but drives you crazy at times). You are so so funny!! You make us laugh out loud on the daily. You are thoughtful and kind and go with the flow. You are so so smart. We love hearing your “Did you know” fun facts everyday.
