Christopher John Kozon

Christopher “Chris” Kozon, was born on April 6, 1980, in Hazelcrest, Illinois. He departed this world unexpectedly on September 20, 2025, in Daphne, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories.

Chris was a devoted family man, proud of his role as a husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Kylee (Blair) Kozon, whose bond with Chris was an inspiring testament to their enduring love. Together, they nurtured their beloved children, MaKenna and Emmett, who were the light of Chris's life. He is also mourned by his loving parents, Joseph and Patricia (Murphy) Kozon, who instilled in him the values of kindness and hard work.

In addition to his immediate family, Chris will be dearly missed by his in-laws, Steve and Kathy (Phillips) Blair of Muncie, Indiana, as well as his brother-in-law Jeremy (Jennifer) Blair, also of Muncie. As a loving uncle to Ronnie Joe "Joe" Blair, he held a special place in the hearts of those around him. Chris was deeply loved by many—aunts, uncles, and cousins who admired his warmth and vibrant spirit. His devoted companion, “Puppy Ronin,” was always by his side, adding joy to his days.

A member of the community and a dedicated professional, Chris worked as a District Retail Manager for Polaris Inc. in the Gulf Coast. His career path was marked by significant roles, including his time as a consultant for MSX International and as a valued employee at Advanced Auto Parts. Throughout his career, he met each challenge with determination and a fierce dedication to his work.

Chris attended Ball State University, where he pursued Special Education and Teaching. His love for family was unmatched, and this commitment shone brightly in his interactions with everyone he encountered.

Chris will be most remembered for what truly mattered to him: the enduring love he shared with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his angel daughter Kinley, his angel brother Joseph, and his loving grandparents—Joseph and Geraldine Kozon, Robert and Elizabeth Murphy, as well as his Uncle Michael Kozon. Each of these cherished individuals left an indelible mark on Chris’s life.

We treasure his life lived with passion, dedication, and an unwavering love for family. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, infectious laughter, a heart of love, arms that gave the best bear hugs and the countless moments of joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.

Chris's legacy will continue to shine through the hearts of those he loved, reminding us all of the beauty of family and love.

At Chris's request, no services will be held at this time.

Laurie Dyas Chunn

Laurie Dyas Chunn, 59, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, made her final transition gracefully and peacefully on September 6, 2025, with her family by her side.

Laurie was born on August 2, 1966, in Durham, North Carolina, to Dr. Edmund Covington Dyas, IV, and Diane LeCorgne Dyas. She attended Auburn University and the University of South Alabama, and she graduated with a BS in Early Childhood Education. While attending college, she met her husband, Lee Brian Chunn, to whom she was married for more than 40 years, and with whom she had three wonderful children.

Laurie was an early childhood education teacher for more than 25 years. Her greatest joy in her career came from being a kindergarten teacher and helping young students learn how to read, find their individualized artistic skills, and find enjoyment in attending school. She began her career at Leinkauf Elementary School in Mobile. She then taught at Oakdale Elementary School in Tuscaloosa, Perdido Elementary School, and Delta Elementary School in Baldwin County, and she finished her career at Rockwell Elementary School in Spanish Fort. She worked tirelessly to make her classroom a pleasant and comfortable experience for all of her students, and she spread her grace at every turn.

Her skills and passion as an educator, role model, and mentor extended well beyond her classroom. She never passed up the opportunity to share with children, and many adults, her cooking and baking skills, and she loved learning and teaching all aspects of gardening and caring for her beloved orchids and day lilies.

Laurie was predeceased by her father, Dr. Edmund Covington Dyas, IV, and her infant niece, Sarah Grace Dyas. She is survived by her husband and greatest admirer, Lee Brian Chunn, and her children, Reilly Dyas Chunn and his wife, Kayla Cherie Chunn, Collin Lanning Chunn, and Trevor Covington Chunn. She is also survived by her mother Diane LeCorgne Dyas, and her siblings: Edmund Covington Dyas, V (Heather), Katherine Dyas Watts (David) and David Lyle Dyas (Katie), as well as her sisters-in-law: Sherri Chunn Goodman (Troy) and Deleah Chunn Beisel (Tim) and nieces and nephews: Edmund Covington Dyas, Faith Dyas Wilson (Collier), Lauren Covington Watts, Layne Elizabeth Watts, Penelope Jane Dyas, Evie Cosette Dyas, Hendrix Ignatius Dyas, Astraea Odette Dyas, Clare Elise Goodman, Ruby Grace Goodman and Cameron Torrance Beisel.

Laurie greatly loved all of her family and her many friends, many of whom she considered to be part of her family.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:00 A.M, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church in Spanish Fort. A reception to celebrate Laurie’s life will be held immediately following the mass.

Her family members wish to extend their gratitude to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Dr. Ravin Ratan and his team for the excellent care and support provided to Laurie and her family during her journey. We also extend our gratitude to Community Hospice, Alyssa Crone, Dr. Daniel Cameron and his staff, and Dr. Craig Dowden.

In lieu of flowers, Laurie and her family would request that donations be made to the University of South Alabama Mitchell Cancer Institute.

Born on April 28, 1970, in Glenview, Illinois, Susannah lit up every room she entered with her joyous and talkative personality. She was a proud graduate of Glenbrook South High School, where she actively participated in the band that performed at the renowned Fiesta Bowl Parade in 1984.

Susannah started her career at Tetra-Pak for almost a decade then poured her heart and soul into founding X-treme Cleaning and Restoration, serving as president and owner for 21 years.

Going to church was a staple of her life, where she found community and shared her supportive and encouraging nature in small groups.
