This is probably the best advice I’ve got to give, y’all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀
Believe me—I get it. In the context of diet culture (and under the influence of an ED), it can be hard not to Google calorie counts, restaurant nutrition info, tips for weight loss, etc.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
But what if when you felt that urge, you tried, instead, to search for something uplifting, goofy, or heart-warming? For me, animal videos are a *great* substitute. Unlike all the “information” out there that might make you feel sh*tty, cute animal content might give you a smile or a laugh…or just something to focus on that isn’t related to food or bodies.

To preface this post, I want to say that I *love* all the love that carbs get in the non-diet community. Carbs are crucial, and people need to know this!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Each day I see posts in my feed that offer great reminders re: carbs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They’re our bodies’ preferred source of fuel.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our brains (just our brains!) need about 8 or 10 slices of bread daily.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Things like that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These truths are important, and I’m glad folks are getting the facts out there. But you know what?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even if carbs *weren’t* all that crucial, it would still be okay to eat them. Daily.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So today, a quick reminder: You don’t need a reason to eat carbs. ❤️
