I’m not one to post much from my personal life but this goes deep ❤️

“💫 Over the past year I have been doing a lot of soul searching as over the years these two pondering thoughts kept arising: “why am I here? What is my purpose in life?” In my life time I was the only girl & first born of three kids, shined most when I was singing (choir, church, competitions, etc), was raised in the FM area, made wonderful connections over the years, received my Associate of Arts degree, met a wonderful man to whom we’ve been together almost 20 years (18 married) Joseph Sauvageau, brought three beautiful kids into the world, bought & moved into homes, celebrated love & loss for those near & far, adopted a dog & three cats & started my own cleaning business: Helping Hands Cleaning, LLC.

Throughout all of this, these questions continued to circle back as a reminder that “what you do is important & is impactful!” Without the grit, compassion & freedom to “dream” that was ingrained by my parents (Tim & Pauline Rinke) I doubt my work ethic, values & beliefs would be near to what they are today.

This is a reminder that self-care, growth & contemplation is one of the most SELFLESS acts that you can carry out. 🧹 Did you know that the first vacuum cleaner was invented in the late 19th century? It was a cumbersome machine called the "suction sweeper," which was horse-drawn and used to clean large spaces! Way different than the little robotic ones of today!

🛏️ Tidy Tip Tuesday: Simplify bed-making by using a duvet cover instead of a top sheet. It's easier to put on and can give your bedroom a polished look with minimal effort.

Which team are you on? Make the bed every day or leave it as you'll just be climibing back in anyway? What if you had someone else to make it for you?

🍋 Do you prefer the smell of citrus or pine when cleaning?🧽
In the early 20th century, lemons and oranges were not just tasty fruits – they were also essential cleaning tools! Homemakers would use the juice to polish brass and copper, remove stains from linens, and freshen up their homes with the invigorating scent. Citrus oils were even used as natural pest repellents. Today, we still appreciate the cleaning power of citrus, often incorporating these zesty fruits into our eco-friendly cleaning routines. Pine is another excellent cleaning solution with amazing benefits.

🍞 Throwback Thursday: Did you know that in the 19th century, most households baked their own bread? .
Before the rise of commercial bakeries, women were expected to make fresh loaves for their families every week. The process was time-consuming and labor-intensive, often requiring an entire day of mixing, kneading, and baking.
The arrival of pre-sliced, store-bought bread in the 1920s was a game-changer. Today people are going back to making their own bread. Do you know how to make bread from scratch?

🌷 Throwback Thursday: The Charming History of May Baskets 🧺 In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, May Day was celebrated by hanging baskets filled with flowers and treats on the doors of friends and neighbors. This lovely tradition was meant to spread joy and welcome the arrival of spring.
Children would often ring the doorbell and run away, leaving the recipient to guess who had left the surprise. Some towns even held May Basket competitions to see who could create the most beautiful and elaborate designs!
