1. Treatment is not the hardest part.
The real battle begins after the last appointment — when the world moves on and you’re left learning how to live inside a body you barely recognize.
2. “Normal” doesn’t come back.
But a new you does — wiser, softer, sharper, more intentional. You’ll learn to love her.
3. You will become your own advocate.
Because having a doctor doesn’t mean you’re being heard. You’ll learn to speak up, ask better questions, and trust your intuition more than you ever have.
4. You’ll feel guilty for needing help.
But you’re not a burden. You’re a human being healing from trauma — and it’s okay to say “I’m not fine.”
5. When you stop looking sick, some people will stop checking in.
Your suffering doesn’t disappear just because your hair grows back. Release anyone who can’t hold space for the invisible parts of your healing.
6. Your light returns — slowly, quietly, beautifully.
And along the way, you meet people who change your life forever.
What do YOU wish someone had told you when you were first diagnosed?
