PSA! According to a recent study*, every year an estimated 37,000 adults over the age of 65 were treated for falls associated with carpets or rugs. A fall can cause serious injuries which are often fatal. To keep your elderly loved ones safe, remove all throw rugs. If the elder will not part with the cherished throw rug, tape down all the edges to decrease the likelihood of the elder catching their toe under the rug. If possible, consider removing carpet as well to allow for more stable footing. Please share this to let others you know help keep our seniors safe.
