I didn’t truly know who I was—until I stopped living for everyone else.

Letting go of who others thought I should be, what they needed me to do, and how they expected me to show up allowed me to finally hear my own voice.

Just because you made a decision you now regret doesn’t mean you’ve failed — it just means you took a turn that taught you something.

The other day, I thought about when I taught my son to drive on the expressway. I let him know not to panic if he misses an exit, as there is always another opportunity to either turn around or take a new direction to where he was looking to go.

When I thought of that, I thought, Wow...that mimics life perfectly. Often we have goals in mind and when we miss them, we think "well, that's it, it's gone now", but really it's not. Whether your detour was one month or twenty years long, you still have the choice to turn around or even take a new direction to a new destination that fits even better for what you desire now.

If you’ve taken a path that no longer feels right — in work, relationships, self-care, anything — this is your reminder:
You can always recenter. You can always redirect.
