Social pressure, the stress of living a life that is constantly on video, increases in substance abuse, and a society that is generally disconnected…this is wreaking havoc on our young adults. Let the young people you know and love know that they can reach out for help- that’s a sign of strength, not weakness!

Something I wish I knew sooner when it comes to kids' brains and screens is how screen time actually affects the brain.

It's not subjective nor opinion. There is scientific and evidence-based research to show the role toxic screen time has on the developing brain. An important step in changing screen habits is understanding the dynamics of dopamine, tech, and the brain.

We have more information about dopamine on our website: https://screenstrong.org/kidsbrainsandscreens/

For more thorough information on brains and screens, we urge you to check out our Kids' Brains and Screens Student Course and/or the KBS Parent Course. KBS is a groundbreaking, evidence-based educational journey crafted to equip kids, teens and parents with the scientific truths about screens. It will serve as a catalyst for transformative discussions in a home (or classroom) setting that will revolutionize your family's relationship with screens, fostering healthier connections along the way.

It’s unfortunate that this is necessary legislation, but the fight against the drug of smartphones is a real fight. Arkansas is leading the way in safety for our kids!

The House passed the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act today, with 97 representatives voting for the legislation and one voting against it. If you or your child use ma*****na, PLEASE STOP! I have seen heartbreaking new psychosis diagnoses in teenagers over the past few months as a result of ma*****na use. MA*****NA CAN CAUSE SCHIZOPHRENIA. This is not a joke. The American Psychiatric Association does not endorse ma*****na legalization.

This cohort study of more than 13 million individuals aged 14 to 65 years examines changes in the population-attributable risk fraction for cannabis use disorder associated with schizophrenia after liberalization of medical cannabis and legalization of nonmedical cannabis in Canada.

Evidence against use of screens for kids under age 16 is piling up every day…”letting your kid use your cell phone is compared to second-hand smoke.”

Researchers in Ohio led a study looking at hundreds of children’s brains since birth to examine the impact of screen time. NBC’s Vicky Nguyen shares an insid...

This one is for teachers, administrators, and parents of school kids 😁

In this episode, Melanie and Dr. Stacey explore how teachers and parents can collaborate to create a phone-free school environment. Teachers can support the policy by using research-backed education, setting an example with their own phone use, and staying alert to signs of phone overuse, like distracted behavior and declining grades. Parents play a crucial role by supporting the school’s efforts, limiting contact with kids during school hours, and encouraging phone-free days.

For parents wanting to go further, we’ll also discuss becoming a Phone-Free Champion in your school, organizing fun, tech-free activities that encourage socializing and new hobbies.

Tune in to learn how phone-free schools can help students stay focused, build friendships, and feel more connected.
