How can Alcohol Awareness Month make a difference?

We can use this month to raise awareness about alcohol abuse and take action to prevent it — both at home and in the community.
Here are just a few ideas:

· Encourage friends or family members to make small changes, like
keeping track of their drinking and setting drinking limits.
· Share tips with parents to help them talk with their kids about the
risks of alcohol use.
· Ask doctors and nurses to talk to their patients about the benefits
of drinking less or quitting.

Dr. Armstrong earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and completed a residency at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Armstrong also completed a fellowship at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson. He is board certified in neurosurgery.

North Hills Surgery Center is proud to have Dr. Mark Pichhardt on our team of Doctors. Dr. Mark Pickhardt graduated from Harding University in 1983 with a major in Biology. He graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1987, and then went on to complete his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Pickhardt has served as a consulting gynecologist for the Fayetteville, Arkansas VA Medical Center, and he served as an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology for UAMS and as an instructor for the Northwest Arkansas AHEC Program.
