📌 Office Closure Notice

All SCHRA offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of the Good Friday holiday.

We will resume normal business hours on Monday, April 6.

Due to the high volume of LIHEAP applications received, some clients may soon receive notice that their application has been placed on a waitlist.

So what does that mean? ⬇️

If you have submitted your application and all required documents, your application is on file and will be reviewed according to program guidelines as funding becomes available.

Being waitlisted does not mean your application has been denied.

Your application remains active, no additional documents are needed, and it will be processed based on household need—and not necessarily in the order it was received, per state guidelines.

⚡ Important Reminder:
Please continue paying your utility bill until your benefit has been applied to your account—even if you receive an approval notice.
At this time, we are unable to provide specific processing timelines.

🔧 Notice: Early Closure Today

All South Central Human Resource Agency offices, including our Neighborhood Service Centers and American Job Centers, will close early today (Wednesday, March 11) at 3:00 p.m. due to scheduled network upgrades and maintenance.

These upgrades will help ensure our systems continue running smoothly so we can better serve our communities across South Central Tennessee.

🥗 March is Senior Nutrition Month in Tennessee!

Governor Bill Lee has proclaimed March as a time to recognize programs that help older adults stay healthy, independent, and connected. 💙

At South Central Human Resource Agency, our Senior Nutrition program is proud to serve seniors across our 13-county region.

🍽️ 219,026 meals served in Fiscal Year 2024–2025
🚗 91,822 home-delivered meals to seniors who are homebound

These meals provide more than nutrition — they offer daily connection and a friendly check-in for seniors who might otherwise spend the day alone. 🤝

👏 A special thank you to our amazing nutrition staff working in kitchens, senior centers, and on meal delivery routes. Your dedication truly makes a difference! ❤️

We’re currently receiving a high volume of LIHEAP applications and status calls. Our team is working diligently to review applications, issue approvals, and generate payments as quickly as possible.

Before calling for a status update:

📧 Check your email and client account first.
If you applied online, log in using your email address to view your status and any requested updates. The state system automatically sends email notifications when action is needed or when your application is approved. If you don’t see an email in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folder.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Approval does not mean immediate payment. Please continue paying your utility bill until the LIHEAP benefit is applied to your account.

⏳ Applications are being processed through a new state database and processing system this year. While we are operating within required timelines, payments still take time to move through the system and reach your utility provider.

📞 Limiting status calls allows our staff to focus on processing applications faster.
