Yellow Rock Behavioral Health Yellow Rock Treatment Center

Yellow Rock Behavioral Health is a psychiatric residential treatment center that is specifically designed for children and adolescents ages 12-17 who are having difficulties with problematic sexual behaviors that are complicated by mental illness. Our residential program treats both issues simultaneously through a multidisciplinary treatment approach to better ensure for a successful recovery. Through our program we help our patients learn to take responsibility for both their problematic sexual behaviors and any other behavioral problems they may have. Our highly structured program provides each child with an environment that promotes learning healthy coping skills, behavior management techniques, and relapse prevention techniques.

Learning comes to life in our classrooms! 🐸✨

Our students have been exploring body systems in a hands-on way using humane, dissectable frogs. This interactive experience helps deepen their understanding of anatomy while building curiosity, critical thinking, and respect for living things.

We love seeing our students engaged, asking questions, and making real-world connections every day!

Happy National Pet Day! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating some very special members of our classroom family—our class pets: Leo, Sputnik, and Rockie! These three aren’t just companions, they play an important role in helping our students learn responsibility, empathy, and care for others each and every day.

From feeding time to gentle interactions, our students love being part of their daily routines—and we love watching the connections grow. 💛

We’re getting our hands dirty and growing something special! 🌱

This week, our students began working on our garden area and kicked off the germination process. From planting seeds to learning what it takes for them to grow, this has already become such a fun and meaningful hands-on experience.

Gardening is more than just planting—it’s a powerful educational tool that teaches patience, responsibility, and the science behind how things grow. We’re so proud of the effort our students have put in so far and can’t wait to watch their hard work bloom. 🌼

Stay tuned to see what they grow!

April is National Poetry Month!

Today we want to share a poem from one of our students in our Jasper classroom:

Fix the classroom, they're almost here
Summer break is almost here

Jasper pod is on their way
Coming here to learn and play

Leo is the classroom pet
He is cool like Boba Fett

He is also nice and sweet
He has lots of crickets to eat

Since summertime is almost here
We have time to learn and cheer

🎬🍄 We leveled up our community outing this week!

Some of our residents enjoyed a trip to see the new Super Mario movie, turning a fun experience into a meaningful opportunity to practice skills learned in treatment. From social interactions and patience to problem-solving and community engagement, every moment was a chance to grow.

We’re proud of the progress being made both inside and outside of our program—because learning doesn’t stop at the door! 💛

Last night was one for the history books as the 🚀 Artemis II mission took off!

A huge shoutout to Mr. Josh, who came in after hours to give some ofour students the opportunity to watch this groundbreaking moment together. Experiences like this spark curiosity, inspire big dreams, and bring learning to life in the most unforgettable way. 🌙✨

We’re so proud to create moments where our students can witness history in the making!
