Yellow Rock Treatment Center

Yellow Rock Behavioral Health is a psychiatric residential treatment center that is specifically designed for children and adolescents ages 12-17 who are having difficulties with problematic sexual behaviors that are complicated by mental illness. Our residential program treats both issues simultaneously through a multidisciplinary treatment approach to better ensure for a successful recovery. Through our program we help our patients learn to take responsibility for both their problematic sexual behaviors and any other behavioral problems they may have. Our highly structured program provides each child with an environment that promotes learning healthy coping skills, behavior management techniques, and relapse prevention techniques.

How can you have a bad Monday when you get to hang out with a pet alligator? 🐊

Today we were fortunate to partner with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to talk to our students about conservation. Our field trip on Friday and our speaker today provided a real-life connection to the units they have been working on in the classroom.

Staff and residents had a fun outing at Gator Golf. The recreational department has been implementing new leisure interest this month and golf was a hit for the residents! They got to practice their new leisure interest while playing putt putt golf!

We had a great day learning survival skills and natural resources at Hobbs State Park! Teachers, staff, and students were able to make emergency shelters, wild edibles, water filtration, and go hiking. Thank you to Hobbs for planning a full day of hands on learning for our students!

It's been a busy couple of days at Ridgeview, but our bright young men are off to school and ready to tackle the year ahead of them! New friends have already been made, extra curricular activities signed up for, and excitement for graduation is well underway. This school year might just be the best one yet! 🚌

Tonight one of our Ridgeview young men got to have the experience of an absolute lifetime. This young man aspires to be a chef. A community partner found out about his dream and allowed him to come in and shadow the executive chef in a real life, commercial kitchen! His dishes looked, and tasted incredible, you can even ask the owners who came in to eat what he prepared. We're so grateful for the people who can give our guys such amazing opportunities. And special thanks to Benton Co Adoption Specialist, Ms. Abby, for making this happen!

Our staff took some of the residents who’ve been working hard in the program on an outing to Crystal Bridges this week! It’s a great opportunity for them to practice what they’re learning and enjoy some time with art and nature.

Our Ridgeview Staff of the Month for July is Mr. Christian! Mr. Christian has been a great asset to the team and a great role model for our young men. Mr. Christian loves getting them outdoors or keeping them busy with board games and more, even when the weather doesn't cooperate. Congrats Mr. Christian!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!!!

We celebrated National Ice Cream Day a few days early by having ice cream sundaes for all of our employees and residents!
