Often chaos when settled, like a storm, brings Clarity.
My story about Clarity. There was a time in my life when life was pretty bleak. My past had caught up with my present, and I could see no future. I felt I had failed everyone and everything in my life. I wanted it (the nightmares, flashbacks, and emotional pain/turmoil) to just stop. I believed (in my moment of insanity) that everyone would be better off with me not being around.
However, my God was not done with me yet. I had a lot more living to do. I love the bible verse John 10:10 I have come to give you life and to give it abundantly. I’m paraphrasing, but when I dwell and meditate on that verse, I’m euphoric about this God who wants me to live to the full. He/she, whatever your gender view of God, reached out to me in my darkest moment. I had always known God. He (simplifies the pronoun usage) had always and continues to be a very important part of my life. God reached out to me in a song by Jimmy Cliff called I can see clearly now. This song and others down the road of my life, spoke to me and helped me through the tough times.
When I thought about my journey and what I wanted to call my counselling business, Clarity best described for me where I’d been, where I am, and where I’m going. My hope is that with my skills, knowledge, training, and experience, I’ll be able to help others who also find themselves in that dark moment when life looks and feels hopeless. If you’re reading this and having those thoughts, please call for help.
The National Su***de Prevention Hotline is 1-800-273-8255. Call a close friend, call an Emergency Room, but PLEASE don’t let stinkin’ thinkin’ take the gift of life away from you. Years ago, my husband and I (our kids pitched in too) completely gutted and remodeled a very, very old house. That experience taught me most things can be repaired. Problems, feelings, states of mind can be resolved and changed.
