Grief doesn’t follow rules. It doesn’t have stages or timelines—and it certainly doesn’t disappear just because a holiday comes around.

This Mother’s Day, you don’t have to choose between distraction or remembrance. Make space for both. Celebrate what remains, and honor what’s been lost.

Write a letter. Visit a special place. Share a memory. Simply rest.

Give yourself grace—your grief journey is yours alone.

Take a moment to breathe and affirm with me:

“I am safe. I am not alone in my grief. I have the right to spend this day in a way that respects my emotions. I am grateful for those I’ve lost and those I still have. My grief is a reflection of love that persists.”

You are not alone. You are deeply loved.

Perinatal support can be life changing for families. While questions like these are not diagnostic on their own, they can be good indicators that the things you're thinking or feeling may be building toward something deeper and you could use more support. Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can bring challenges in all shapes and sizes - challenges that are much more common than we may realize when we are in the thick of it. You are not alone.

Gratitude!!! A mindset that can help create space for joy, happiness and connection in our lives.

Sometimes some of the smallest, simple moments can be the most gratifying. Example- taking a walk in nature. Watching birds fly about. Reading a good book, with a warm cup of your favorite drink. A kind interaction with with another person.

Share with us (and yourself) areas in your life you have experienced gratitude. ✨

Relationship breakdowns (fights, misunderstandings, etc.) with our kids are an inevitable part of parenting. But, they are also an opportunity for growth and resilience building within that relationship. The key to all this? Repair. Check out our blog post below for more info on how to repair relationship breakdowns with our kids, and why it's so important!

Imagine your mind as a boardroom with a large table. Each chair is occupied by different parts of yourself. These parts have their own emotions, thoughts, roles, and ways of interacting with each other. They have their own agendas and ways of acting, much like a team in a company. For example, the inner critic may point out your shortcomings in hopes of preventing mistakes and judgement, the class clown may make jokes to avoid feeling vulnerable or uncomfortable, the enforcer may yell so that people will pay attention and hear what you're saying, etc.

At the head of the table sits your **Self**, the CEO— the calm, compassionate, and curious part of you that has the ability to look at each part's contribution with an open mind and understanding about the purpose of its role for the whole You. When the Self is leading, the boardroom runs smoothly. Each part's voice is heard and considered, and the Self makes the decisions about how You communicate and behave. However, sometimes certain parts take control of the meeting, overshadowing the Self and causing conflict or imbalance. In these situations, you may come out feeling like "why did I do or say that? That isn't who I am or who I want to be?" In IFS therapy, the goal is to help your parts feel heard and valued so they can put their trust in the Self to reclaim the CEO position, allowing every part to contribute without taking over, creating harmony and a well-run "company" within yourself.
