I have typed this post out so many times but...
Today marks 5 years since we heard it was cancer. 5 years ago our world's shattered being told that at the age of 2 Atley had leukemia.

Today were not going to dwell on what cancer took or did to us, Today were going to celebrate the second chance we got ❤️

Had to share this old picture because it's one of my favorites...the little bald head and the super hero cape on my own personal hero. ❤️
In exactly a month it marks FIVE years since we were told that it was leukemia. Some days it feels like a life time ago, that it never even happened. Some days it feels like we're still in the middle of the battle. Atley hit remission almost 5 years ago (valentines day in 2019 was the last day they saw any cancer cells in his blood work) but we still have 3 years until we can say he's cancer free.
Looking at him today you would never known the battle he went through starting at 2.

Appointment update....
The doctor said he looked good. Im still waiting to hear back about blood work, but she had no worries about it.
We have a couple issues we do have to keep a eye on. The first being his ears, the tube in his left ear fell out recently and now he has a BUNCH of fluid behind that ear drum. It's causing even more hearing loss and pain at times. He sees a ENT next week and hopefully we can help get this resolved. Last year at this exact time he had the same issue😮‍💨 Secondly we have to keep a eye on some leg pain hes been having, as of right now she believes it is growing pain, since he was on treatment and received steriods regularly he has a higher chance at getting a condition called AVN so of course that is the back of everyones mind. As of right now, there is no big worry about this thankfully.

My stubborn goofy boy, if only he fully understood how brave and strong he is ❤️
Today marks ONE YEAR since he stopped chemo treatment. This year has flown by.
He's finally able to enjoy the weekends without feeling bad. He can finally play outside without getting a horrible rash from the sun. His blood work is finally "normal" for a kid his age, and he hasn't been considered immunocompromised for almost 6 months now. We finally found our new "normal" in life. ❤️ He thinks it's like a second birthday for him and it is for us.

One down...four more years to go until he's considered cancer free.💪🧡

Thursday Atley had his monthly blood work.... and everything looked perfect!
This appointment also marked a huge accomplishment as well, he has officially finished this "stage" which means he goes every two months for blood work now❤️

It's been awhile since I've updated on Atley, which is a update in itself.
We went for his monthly blood work today and everything looked perfect❤️
Right now we are just keeping an eye out for any side effects from chemo, and thankfully at this point they're at a bare minimum.
Atley is fully adjusting into the "normal" swing of life❤️

Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers the past two days for Atley.
Surgery went smoothly, the doctor was able to get the tubes placed (removed alot of fluid that was thick from being in there for so long) and removed with anediods with no problem!
Atley woke up from surgery in a really good mood with no issues.

Waiting to get taken back to get ear tubes placed and his adenoids removed

On the first day of school I texted Atley's main oncologist and told her thank you, today attending his first field trip I almost did the same thing.
I remember asking her one time how she could be a pediatric oncologist and she told me she always focused on the good times that it brought, and I like to think these are those moments she was talking about❤️

Atley had his monthly blood work count check today. This appointment marks 6 months since he took his last dose of chemo!!!
Counts were perfect today❤️
We got a referral for an allergist and hopefully got a push for the ENT with some issues that he has been having lately with his ears.
We are so thankful for the continued prayers ❤️
